    Grand Challenges Catalyst Competition
    https://research.unl.edu/grandchallenges/grand-cha...

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln community has identified seven grand challenge thematic areas in which to focus its expertise and resources, as outlined in the N2025 Strategic Plan. The Chancellor's Office and the Office of Research and Economic Development have committed $40 million over four years to invest in strategic, goal-based solutions.

Two types of support are available through the Grand Challenges Catalyst Competition: planning grants, for which proposals must describe the teaming, ideation, and development activities necessary for collaborative groups to coalesce around one or more of UNL's grand challenge themes; and catalyst awards, for which proposals must describe a plan of work for implementing a goal-based project developed in response to one or more of UNL's grand challenge themes.

A required notice of intent to submit is due on the last Friday of February annually. See solicitation for details.

    Partnerships for Innovation (PFI)
    https://new.nsf.gov/funding/opportunities/partners...
    Application Deadline: 01/02/2024

The Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) Program within the Division of Translational Impacts (TI) offers researchers from all disciplines of science and engineering funded by NSF the opportunity to perform translational research and technology development, catalyze partnerships and accelerate the transition of discoveries from the laboratory to the marketplace for societal benefit.

This solicitation offers two broad tracks for proposals in pursuit of the aforementioned goals:
    • The Technology Translation (PFI-TT) track offers the opportunity to translate prior NSF-funded research results in any field of science or engineering into technological innovations with promising commercial potential and societal impact.
    • The Research Partnerships (PFI-RP) track seeks to achieve the same goals as the PFI-TT track by supporting instead complex, multi-faceted technology development projects that are typically beyond the scope of a single researcher or institution and require a multi-organizational, interdisciplinary, synergistic collaboration.

Organizations may submit one (1) PFI-RP proposal. There is no limitation to the number of PFI-TT proposals that an organization may submit.

Impact Awards are designed for researchers both established and new to the field of PD. Projects should be "outside the box" with the goal of bringing new light to the biology of Parkinson's, a new approach to Parkinson's research, or testing a truly novel therapeutic idea. Projects should be based on unconventional ideas that are unlikely to be funded through more traditional funding mechanisms. Our goal is to provide the support that will enable researchers to test new ideas with an impact to the PD community and generate compelling results that will facilitate continued investment from the Parkinson's Foundation and other funders.

Funding Announcements is a weekly list of funding opportunities offered by federal funding agencies, private foundations, and a variety of additional entities. Funding Announcements is also a good place to watch for notification of funding opportunities internal to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as well as announcement of internal competitions in the event a funding opportunity limits the number of proposals that may be submitted to a specific extramural program.

Funding Announcements is not meant to be a one-stop-shop for funding sources; rather, it represents a selection of current funding opportunities that may be of interest to faculty, administrators, and staff at UNL. Additional funding opportunities may be found at Grants.gov. Grants.gov is the single access point for individuals to search competitive funding opportunities from more than 1,000 grant programs offered by the 26 federal grant-making agencies.

A searchable archive of current funding opportunities that have run in Funding Announcements is available on the Office of Research and Economic Development website
